PraiseTEAM is happy to welcome you to “Story Camp”! Story Camp is a week-long day camp for kids 6 to 12 years of age.
Our full week experience will consist of playing, learning, dancing, and creating. For each dance style, students will not only learn choreography and skills but will also be taken through the history of each style to gain an appreciation for the dances we do today. Each day is themed based on a classic story and will culminate in filming a mini production number for your viewing pleasure.
Our pricing is for one week of fun and excitement 9 AM - 3 PM from Tuesday, August 4 till Saturday, August 8 at the Don Bosco Youth Centre (10461, 140 St. Surrey V3T 4N6)
Although not mandatory, we encourage all participants to dress up on each day related to the following theme:
Tuesday - Aladdin
Wednesday - Lion King
Thursday - Toy Story
Friday - Coco
Saturday - Moana
What to Bring to Camp
Please pack the following:
Food - Healthy “nut-free” lunch and snacks; - “No Concessions On-Site”
Drinks - esp. water - fountains will remain closed
Mat (yoga, picnic, etc.)
Face mask
Sanitizer/wipes.
Hat
Sunscreen
Appropriate footwear (no flip-flops)
Extra Change of clothes
Towel
We will provide the following art supplies*:
Crayons
Coloured pencils
Paint
Brush
Scissors
Glue.
Each daily craft will involve different materials.
*We will sanitize all supplies before and after each use. If you have concerns about sharing supplies and spreading the virus, please bring your own supplies according to the list above.
Our Commitment to Keeping Kids Safe
Safety is our top priority. Our camps are led by our trained leaders and will follow strict guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone. We follow strict guidelines in accordance to the directives of the Fraser Health Authority, Provincial Mandates and Health and Safety Standards.
We will actively supervise our camps and will immediately inform parents of any changes in procedures as necessary. We may need to cancel camps if transmission rates go up or a community outbreak occurs.
Our health and safety measures adhere to the health guidance for schools and childcare programs which include the following:
Smaller camp size
Increased outdoor activities
Kids will be put into specific groups.
Routine and frequent environmental cleaning
Explicit policy for children or staff who have the symptoms of a cold, flu, or COVID-19 with coughing or sneezing to not come.
Promote and educate on good hygiene and respiratory etiquette
Hand washing will happen continuously throughout the day
Physical distancing and reducing physical contact through activities.
Kids will have their own designated area to put their belongings and will access in an orderly fashion.
No food sharing
Designated sign-in and sign-out area for parents
A parent or guardian must accompany their children (regardless of age), at daily check-in to complete health screening.
